"Tucked away in the First Garden neighbourhood, Koon Noodle House is not the easiest spot to find, but it’s worth the effort. I discovered it while searching for good prawn noodles in Ipoh to bring my uncle, who’s a big fan. It didn’t disappoint. The prawn noodle broth was flavourful and well-balanced—neither too salty nor too heavy—with a generous portion that my uncle truly enjoyed. The vegetarian curry noodles were also impressive, with a rich, balanced curry and equally satisfying portion size. For drinks, the 八宝 lemon was refreshing, and the coffee was well-brewed. A thoughtful touch I really appreciated was when I ordered soft-boiled eggs—the staff cracked them open for me. Small gestures like this are something many reputable restaurants don’t even bother with. The serving time was fast, likely because we visited after peak hours. One small suggestion: it would be nice if the shop could put up a “talk softly” sign. Before our arrival, two groups of ladies were talking loudly, which was quite distracting and affected the otherwise cosy atmosphere."
